Orcus case study - House Etc. A large Cotswold store selling 'an eclectic mix of beautiful things for you and your home.'

Chris and Morgana Tilling of House Etc had nearly everything lined up to open a beautiful new store in the picturesque Cotswold town of Stow-on-the-Wold – the premises, the products, the passion – the only remaining piece in the jigsaw was an EPOS system.House_Etc_Chair

The Tillings recognised the importance of starting a business with everything under control, and wanted all their stock to be on the system, priced up and ready to sell on the opening day.

After doing some thorough research and looking at several systems, they decided that the Myriad EPOS system from Orcus was the one for them. Chris and Morgana felt that Myriad was more than capable of doing what they wanted in both the short and long term, but more importantly, it was easy to see how it worked. Says Morgana:

“If you are new to EPOS then it can be very confusing trying to work out what you actually need. There is a lot of technical jargon you have to learn, and it was hard to see what parts of a system were relevant to us.

The Orcus approach was very different to all the other companies we talked to. The brochures they gave us made everything clear, and explained it all in a straightforward way. The quotation they provided itemised everything with a simple description, which made it very easy to understand and choose what we wanted.”

Once they had decided to proceed, Chris and Morgana were also very pleased with how the setup went. Says Chris:

“Everything had to be done fairly quickly, as there was only a few weeks between instructing Orcus and the shop opening. They did everything to make sure that the system was in place in time, and that we were completely comfortable with it all.”

House_Etc_DispensersThe House Etc store opened in September 2010, offering a mix of design-led furniture, interiors, gifts and clothing. As the business grows, Morgana sometimes has to contact Orcus for advice, and is very happy with the service she receives:

“Every time I have a question it is answered immediately, as I can always speak to someone knowledgeable on the support line. They are very patient and take the time to explain everything to me so that I understand it fully. I would recommend them to anyone.”
