Leicester Paper Products (LPP) are the newest Myriad users, having taken up a recommendation from Walters Wholesale of Nottingham.
Walters Wholesale have used Orcus systems for several years. Their testimony proved very useful to LPP, as they searched for a reliable and cost-effective system which was backed with excellent support and service.
LPP are using Myriad to process sales orders from a variety of sales channels.

Bicycle retailer/wholesaler becomes latest Orcus customer
Fellia have installed Myriad software at their head office in Enfield. Selling bicycles and accessories through a number of different sales channels, Fellia chose Myriad to mange their stock, suppliers, and customers.
In addition to installing several standard Myriad modules, Orcus programmers wrote a bespoke application to handle the specific parts and returns process which is integral to Fellia's business.

Glasgow store opens and Myriad-powered website goes live
Pulp have opened the doors of their shop in the St Enoch Centre, Glasgow. The store has two EPOS tills running Myriad software, which is integrated with YESpay's chip and pin payment authorisation service.
The Pulp transactional website has also gone live. The site is fully integrated with the Myriad WebShop module for rapid and straightforward order fulfillment. The shopping cart checkout features YESpay's online card payment authorisation service.

Former Virgin Megastore/Zavvi reopens
Head have opened the former Virgin Megastore/Zavvi in Bromley. The extensive site has been fitted with ten tills, all of which are running the Myriad EPOS system.
Three Head stores are now operating on Myriad EPOS software - the other two being situated in Stoke-on-Trent and Leamington Spa.
This is the third former Virgin Megastore/Zavvi to reopen using Myriad software, including what is now Powerplay in Leicester, and Director's Cut in Cork, Republic of Ireland.

Pulp make it five with two new stores

Milton Keynes and Birmingham welcome new Pulp stores
Pulp's expansion shows no signs of slowing down with the opening of shops in Birmingham's Bullring and thecentre:mk in Milton Keynes. They are one of a number of Orcus customers continuing to expand during the economic downturn, with more new sites planned for the coming months.
The mix of music-inspired fashions and popular culture merchandise is proving to be a winner in Pulp shops in the cities of Nottingham, Derby and Manchester.

Shuropody's transactional website today went live, and the first online orders have already been placed by customers.
The incredibly attractive and user-friendly site is powered by Myriad WebShop, which takes information from Shuropody's back office and dynamically creates the product pages of the site. Customer orders are fed straight into the back office for processing. This means there is minimum maintenance of the website required by Shuropody staff.
The website completes Shuropody's multi-channel offering, as they now sell via their stores, online, and telephone orders. Myriad controls all of these channels from one central database, allowing instant reporting on the performance of the whole company.

Irish film and music retailer Director's Cut have opened a new store in Cork. The site is a former Virgin Megastore/Zavvi, which had been closed for several months.
Director's Cut stores in Killarney and Skibbereen have been running Myriad EPOS software for some time, and adding the new shop to the estate was quite straightforward. Despite a relatively short notice period, Orcus staff managed to turn around a full till and back office system in less than a week, to ensure the store was ready in plenty of time for the doors opening.

Shuropody opens for business in Leamington Spa and Cambridge
Shuropody have expanded their estate with further shops in Leamington Spa and Cambridge. As with all other Shuropody sites, the stores are running the Myriad EPOS system.
The business has gone from strength to strength since the first store opened in January 2008. There are now nearly 60 Shuropody branches throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Former Virgin Megastore/Zavvi re-opens in Leicester
Powerplay have become the latest Orcus customer, and today opened the doors at their new store in Leicester's Highcross Centre. Occupying the former Virgin Megastore (which subsequently became Zavvi), the shop stocks a huge range of music, film and game products.
The store has been installed with seven tills over two floors, all of which are integrated with YESpay's chip and pin broadband authorisation service.
The opening of Powerplay is another bonus for retail in Leicester. The city is becoming increasingly popular with shoppers from across the midlands since the extended Highcross centre opened in November 2008.

Retailer Rises above current downturn with Myriad EPOS system

Extensive Bristol store now open
Rise, an independent retailer of music, film, and books has opened a third shop, on Queens Road in the Clifton area of Bristol. The store will be the third to open in under 18 months, adding to shops in Cheltenham and Warwick. Rise has bucked a trend which has seen more than half of all independent music retailers close in the last four years.
Owner Lawrence Montgomery intends for the shop to stock one of the most comprehensive ranges in the country - it will carry around 50,000 product lines across CD, 7 and 12 inch vinyl, DVD, Bluray, books, cassettes and 8 tracks.
The store is split over two floors, and Myriad EPOS software has been installed on several till units and back office PCs. Each of the tills has been supplied with a pin entry device, which uses the YESpay bureau service to authorise card payments very quickly via a broadband connection. This means minimum delay at the point of sale.

Kiki's expand into Hampshire
Kiki's have added to their shop in Christchurch with a new one on Lymington High Street. This site has now become the head office, and is installed with the relevant Myriad EPOS and back office management software. This gives owner Kia Smith complete visibility over the two shops:

Myriad installed in first Kiki's store

Dorset shop goes live
A ladies boutique in Christchurch has become the latest Orcus customer, and went live this week with the Myriad EPOS system. Kiki's offer a wide range of designer clothes, footwear, nightwear, lingerie, jewellery, fashion accessories, and gifts.
Using Myriad software will make a huge difference to how Kiki's operate - purchase ordering, stock control and reporting is all now controlled through the one application. The ability of Myriad to generate and print barcode labels is also key to making the business more efficient.

Gilda's Tryst opens its doors to Sloane Square shoppers
A new store has opened on Kings Road, Chelsea, offering a select range of jewellery, handbags, and other fashion accessories.
Gilda's Tryst has been created by old school friends Amanda Waterstone and Shireen Jayyusi, who have set up shop in a prime location within Duke of York Square. The store is sumptuously decorated throughout, providing a fitting backdrop to showcase the pieces on sale.
Amanda and Shireen managed to turn around the shopfit in impressive time, and are trading very soon after acquiring the premises. This meant Orcus were needed to supply a fully functional EPOS system in a very tight timeframe - less than a week after Amanda first contacted Orcus, the till unit had been installed with a complete set of product data, and stock was barcode-labelled, ready to sell. Says Amanda:

HD Direct now running Myriad EPOS system
A new Orcus customer has successfully migrated to using Myriad for their till and telephone/mail order sales. Based in Livingston, HD Direct are wholesalers who supply a wide range of products to the hair and beauty industry.

A new musical instrument technology retailer has started trading from a shop in Roseville Road in Leeds. Offering a mix of cutting edge instrumentation and technology, the business has been set up by Alison Payne and Paul Germain.

Shuropody march on with further stores

Myriad EPOS system installed in 3 new sites
Orcus staff today completed the installation of EPOS software and hardware at stores in Canterbury, Brighton and Tunbridge Wells. The total number of Shuropody stores is now approaching 60.
As with all the other Shuropody shops, the new sites communicate with head office via broadband. This allows the business to operate in the most efficient way possible, as deliveries, stock transfers etc can all be notified instantly.

VAT rate change is no problem for Orcus customers

Implementation proves to be easy for Myriad users
Orcus are proud to announce that the VAT rate change posed no problem for any of our customers running Myriad EPOS software.
Despite a very short notification period from the Government, Orcus support staff adopted a proactive approach, contacting all customers to make the necessary system changes within plenty of time.
Myriad users chose to pass on the 2.5% cut in VAT, or absorb it and maintain the same prices. Either option proved to be simple for all Orcus customers to set up.

Lebeado Opens 2nd store in Jesmond, Newcastle

Myriad EPOS System installed on two tills and back office
Bead and jewellery retailer, Lebeado, have opened their second store on Acorn Road in the Jesmond area of Newcastle.
Like the first Lebeado store in Durham, the new site is linked to the head office in Northumberland. This allows mother and daughter owners Jill and Kate Watkin to create orders centrally, and view the performance of both stores at any time. The two tills are also integrated with EMBOSS, the Chip and PIN payment authorisation bureau service from YESpay.

New Dada store in Chiswick High Street now open
Dada Records has opened its doors, selling CDs, DVDs and more in Chiswick, West London. Orcus engineers installed the Myriad system to run on EPOS tills, information point PC, and back office PCs. PIN entry devices were installed on three of the EPOS tills, which are integrated with the EMBOSS Chip and PIN payment authorisation bureau service from YESpay.
Dada owner, David Pryde, is no stranger to Myriad, having used it for several years in a previous role.

Head has added to their Leamington Spa outlet with a new shop in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent.
The new store is running Myriad POS software on four EPOS tills, linked to the back office, which in turn is linked to the head office.
Head follows two other recent Orcus installations in Hanley. Shuropody and Academy of Sound are also running Myriad EPOS software in stores nearby.

Kenny opens Dunfermline site

Musical instrument retailer expands estate with Myriad EPOS System
Scottish retailer, Kenny's Music, has added a second shop. The new shop in Dunfermline is linked via Myriad to the head office store in Dundee. This allows owner Kenny Graham to order and transfer stock between the two locations with the minimum of effort.
The Dunfermline store adds to the growing list of sites in Scotland which run on Myriad EPOS software. They range from Dumfries in the south to as far as Inverness in the north. Nottingham store opens for business
Pulp has opened a shop in Nottingham's Victoria Centre. It is Europe's first high street retailer of popular culture merchandise and music inspired fashions. The store is running Myriad on two EPOS tills, plus a back office PC.
Offering a mixture of gifts, accessories, artwork and books, plus a range of cult CD and DVD titles, Pulp aims to deliver the latest in funky and emotive products and fashions.

No monkeying around for Ape with WebShop

Retailer is the first to integrate Myriad with website
Ape has gone live with Myriad WebShop. The Brighton-based retailer of music, film and books is the first Orcus customer to use WebShop to power a transactional website.
All of the stock for both the Ape shop and website is controlled by Myriad. Once stock has been entered into Myriad, it instantly creates a product page on the site. When a customer places an order, the information is automatically fed back into Myriad to be processed. Says Ape owner Frank Taylor:
"I can control what appears on my website very easily through Myriad, and not having to maintain a separate database or rekey order information is a huge time-saver.
The website settings mean I can easily customise the site whenever I want, so that offers and new releases can be given prominent banner positions on the homepage.
Now I will be able to reach a much bigger customer base than just Brighton and the south east."

10 stores now running on Myriad EPOS software
Orcus today installed the Myriad EPOS system at the Sutton Coldfield site, which is the 10th Shuropody store. The site is a concession within the House of Fraser department store in the Gracechurch Centre.
Other Shuropody outlets recently installed include concessions within Debenhams in Leeds, Allders in Croydon, House of Fraser in Aylesbury, and House of Fraser in Dudley.

Ape say YES to integrated Chip and PIN

Authorisation software installed for Brighton music retailer
Ape is the latest Orcus customer to integrate their EPOS till with EMBOSS, which is YESpay's Chip and PIN payment authorisation bureau service software.
YESpay's EMBOSS software is pre-accredited with all the UK banks and card providers (Visa, Mastercard etc). Myriad is fully integrated with EMBOSS, so it was a simple case of plugging a PIN entry device into the Ape till.
EMBOSS uses broadband to authorise card payments, which is very quick and reduces queues at the point of sale. As no separate terminal/printer is required, vital counter space is freed up as well.

The rapid roll-out of Shuropody stores continued today, as they opened their fifth site at Cadbury Garden and Leisure near Bristol. This adds to their stores at Oswaldtwistle Mills, Lichfield Heart of the Country Shopping Village, Trentham Estate Shopping Village, and Dobbies Garden World Retail Gallery in Chesterfield.

Myriad installed in first Lebeado store and head office
Mother and daughter team Jill and Kate Watkin run a bead shop in Durham which offers over 5000 beads and jewellery-making accessories. The Myriad EPOS system turned out to be exactly what they need to keep track of all their product lines, suppliers and customers.
With a head office in Northumberland, Lebeado required a multi-site system which kept things simple but could be tailored to meet their requirements. Says Jill:

Today saw the second installation of Myriad EPOS software for music, film and book retailer Rise, in their new store at the University of Warwick campus. This follows the installation at the Cheltenham store on 11th February.

Shuropody sets foot in the Village

Second store goes live with Myriad EPOS system in Staffordshire
Shuropody today opened their second store, located in the Shopping Village at the Trentham Estate in Staffordshire. Like the recently-opened Chesterfield site, the store offers a range of shoes and footcare products as well providing a variety of foot therapies.
The Trentham Shopping Village site is the third site to run on Myriad EPOS software, including head office. Shuropody Operations Director Simon Kirby is very impressed with the system and service he has received:

Orcus installs for independent in Brighton
Ape Entertainment today went live with the Myriad EPOS system at their store in Brighton, Sussex.
Owner Frank Taylor had been looking for suitable EPOS software, but hadn't found one which adapted to meet the needs of music retail. Myriad has been used by a number of music retailers for many years, and after a demonstration Frank was convinced of its suitability:

Retailer celebrates opening of new store in Chesterfield
A new total footcare retailer opened their first store today, at the Dobbies Garden World Retail Gallery in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. In addition to offering a wide range of shoes and footcare products, the Shuropody shop is kitted out with specialist treatment rooms. These cater for a variety of foot therapies, such as reflexology and podiatry.
As well as straightforward point of sale and stock management, Shuropody needed an EPOS system which could facilitate customer bookings for treatments. Myriad did not originally have such a function, but Orcus developers were able to create a booking system to meet the Shuropody specification.
Shuropody staff are very pleased with the results. Managing Director Frank Duffy commented:
"We spent a lot of time looking at various systems, and Myriad was head and shoulders above the rest in terms of functionality, flexibility and price. We are also very impressed with the service and support Orcus have provided.

Orcus install Myriad EPOS system in highly-anticipated new store
Music fans in Leamington Spa have flooded into a new store which is located in the Royal Priors Shopping Centre.
Head opened its doors today with considerable interest from local press and public. Specialising in alternative and non-mainstream music, film and books, Head aim to fill a large gap in the market for trendy Leamington shoppers.
Orcus installed Myriad EPOS software to run on five tills and an information point in the store, which is controlled from head office by owner Les Whitfield. Says Les,

Myriad EPOS system installed in Derby Westfield Centre store
The new Westfield Centre opened in Derby today. With a million square feet of retail space, it houses an eclectic mix of retailers, including identity.
identity is an independent family-run establishment. The shop provides innovative jewellery and gift wear for men, plus hand crafted jewellery for ladies created by over 30 designers. In addition identity also sells hand made ceramics and gift cards. As well as this large product offering, the store also includes a workshop which allows unique pieces to be created.
identity chose to run the store on Myriad EPOS system, which is integrated with YESpay's EMBOSS payment authorisation software on two pin entry devices. The solution fulfils every requirement of their business model. Says owner Alison Warner:
"Myriad lets us control everything. As well as simply buying and selling stock, we can use the system to take deposits for special items, as well as manufactured pieces.

Myriad now compatible with YESpay's EMBOSS software

Orcus today received accreditation to use YESpay's EMBOSS pre-accredited Chip and Pin solution within the Myriad POS application.
This will enable a seamless link between the transaction capture and transaction authorization, via an ADSL link to the merchant provider. YESpay is a global provider of highly secure and scalable EMV compliant Electronic Funds Transfer payment services. These are designed to assist independent and multiple retailers operating in high street, hospitality, leisure, mail order and web environments.
EMBOSS enables them to migrate their integrated EPOS tills, mobile EFT terminals and unattended kiosks to EMV Chip and Pin. This helps to overcome the risks from fraud liability shift deadlines, which were mandated by the payment card associations.
